Joined deafs.com in hopes to develop friendships/relationships in my area after college. I've been away for so many years so I've been out of touch in the deaf community in my area. Turns out that I met someone who lives 2.5 hours away from me through deafs.com. We got into a long distance relationship and it's not so bad b/c we're only 2.5 hours away from each other. We eventually got engaged, I moved down there with him then got married. Now we have a beautiful toddler and have one on the way. Thanks deafs.com for this wonderful family that I now have. :)
Advice to other members:
It takes some time to meet your one. You'll probably meet some people here that is NOT for you but it is a learning experience. Just go on a date with them, it won't do you any harm, it's okay to decide that a 2nd date is not a good idea and proceed to find someone else. You need patience. Your "one" will come to you eventually.
