Quoting jaxson2006:
I just love it here in San Antonio. I am originally from this central Texas area, but have been gone for the past 12 years while serving in the United States Marine Corps. Oorah!! You think its hot here, try Anbar Province in Iraq in the summer. You can smell melted rubber from the bottom of your boots. I moved back here from Camp Pendleton this past March. Didn't want to get out of the Marines, but unfortunatley, an explosion has left me partially deaf, with a severe case of tinnitus. I believe I would rather just be completley deaf, which of course will happen sooner or later as the nerves in my ear continue to die from the accoustic trauma injury. It's difficult to say though. Would I rather hear nothing at all, or have to live with this constant darn ringing in my ears 24x7? Don't know. Doesn't really matter though, it's coming sooner or later. I just attended my first VA sign language class at the VA clinic. Sweet little old lady. BUt.. you know how 80 year olds aren't teh fastest thing in the world.. imagine if they were signing to you. And whats worst, is that the poor thing has severe arthritis, so she can't open her hands much. So either I just learned to say, "Where is the bathroom?" or how to play rock, paper, sicissors. I am not entirley sure.
